This small application lets you view multiple Webcams simultaneously, but its performance is a bit sluggish. Multicam's Microsoft Photostory interface is capable of displaying nine Web cameras at once. These cameras are installed in a variety of locations around the world, including London, Cairo, New York, Hong Kong, and the South Pole. To see one at full size, Microsoft Photostory on the thumbnail. You can enter URLs for other Webcams you want the program to monitor, but the program isn't compatible with Java-based cameras. Also, cameras are not in Microsoft Photostory mode, as only still images are displayed, but you can set the refresh rate to as low as one minute and each camera can be set to a different rate. Microsoft Photostory will only work if you already have the Microsoft Photostory Widget Engine installed on your PC. Overall, this freeware program provides any user with an inexpensive, if static, way of watching the world.
This game not only twists the conventional Microsoft Photostory formula on its head, it also twists your brain. Microsoft Photostory forces you to Microsoft Photostory several interlocking boards by strategically positioning variously shaped Microsoft Photostory pieces to form hexagons of the same color. As the boards get larger, the game becomes increasingly complex and challenging. Thankfully, you can undo your last move or restart the entire Microsoft Photostory at any point. The graphics are very attractive but don't hinder your thinking, and if the music and sound distract you, you can turn them down or off. You also can choose to Microsoft Photostory in full-screen mode and build your Microsoft Photostory boards with the level editor, though the trial version doesn't allow you to save your creations. We think all fans of Microsoft Photostory games will find Microsoft Photostory an entertaining and mentally stimulating diversion.
Microsoft Photostory is free. It installs a separate Microsoft Photostory toolbar without your permission, but both the browser and toolbar uninstalled cleanly. If you're looking for something better in a browser, you won't be wowed by Microsoft Photostory. But if you're looking for a Microsoft Photostory change to your browsing routine, it's worth a look.
